With a passion for storytelling, Joi Hiatt is a film and theatrical actor, director, producer and teaching artist. She has vast artistic experience across many stages. Favorite roles include Blanche Dubois in A Streetcar Named Desire, Sherlock Holmes in a female led production of The Hound of the Baskervilles, Caroline Bingley in Pride and Prejudice, Sir Toby Belch and Ophelia in Twelfth Night, Queen Gertrude in Hamlet, Doris in Miracle on 34th St., Cinderella in Happily ever Once Upon and Evil Stepmother in R&H's Cinderella. Joi spent three seasons Zounds! Theatre Company, a troupe that brings Shakespeare into schools.
Her work in “Tomorrow Never Came” earned her a Best Actress Award from The Scene Festival and a Best Supporting Actress nominee from Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival. She served two years on the board of the Parker Arts Council, the producing entity behind Parker Arts, Culture and events. She spent three years as the Individual Giving Coordinator at Athena Project, the producing entity behind Plays in Progress. Recently Joi served on the board of Theatrical Response Team, a company that produced streaming plays during the lockdown quarantine of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Joi is a teaching artist with the City of Aurora Theatre Performance and Education. She is also proud to be a producer with Ginga Productions and Stray Dog Soul Pictures. A native of Colorado, her training includes University of Colorado, Denver Center for the Performing Arts and the Actor’s Menu Denver.
